Kary Witt is the manager of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, California. In this high profile position, he is responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the world famous span. At the Golden Gate Bridge for more than 24 years, in 2000, Mr. Witt oversaw the development and implementation of Electronic Toll Collection, followed in 2013 with the transition to All Electronic Toll Collection. He has led the development and implementation of state-of-the-art maintenance practices on the Bridge. With fourteen unions representing the workers at the Bridge, he is well versed in complex labor matters. Mr. Witt has gained significant recognition for his work in the area of infrastructure security and was appointed to an FHWA sponsored Blue Ribbon Panel on Bridge and Tunnel Security in 2003. Mr. Witt is a former President of the International Bridge Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA). He has led a number of IBTTA’s initiatives over the years, including his role as Founding Chairman of the IBTTA Leadership Academy. Mr. Witt has made presentations and presented technical papers at numerous professional and technical conferences over many years.
